This week’s Pup Close & Purrsonal comes to us from Dawn Crawford. Dawn is an Area Manager for LHP Management.
Dawn first met Zen, living at an animal shelter in Carbondale, IL, where he was known as Bruno. She fell in love instantly, but was told she had to wait two months before she could take him home, as he was currently being treated for an extensive and painful heartworm condition. Zen had been born in a shelter and transferred to many other shelters in a short time. At the time of adoption, he was 1.5 years old. She is his first owner and Momma! Bringing Zen home involved lots of TLC and medicine, to treat his mange and the “hot spots” all over his body.
However now, two years later, Zen is in perfect health. He loves the water and playing with his ball. But his favorite activity is waiting until it gets dark every night, to chase the laser pointer in the backyard. Dawn says Zen is the best dog she’s ever had and she can’t imagine life without him.
She admits she didn’t rescue him – he rescued her!
Speaking of beloved four-footed friends, The Scruff reminds everyone: please spay or neuter your pets.
With gratitude & coffee,
