Luther Vandross & Cheryl Lynn, together sang a beautiful melody titled, “If this world were mine.” The lyrics reminded me of the supreme power that only God had to give. “If this world were mine, I’d place at your feet all that I own; you’ve been so good to me; if this world were mine, I’d give you the flowers, the birds and the bees.”…..If this world were mine I’d give you anything.” Listening to the song, this thought came to mind!

Summer is over and children are off to school. You’ve bought all the school supplies and clothes that little Suzanne or Jonnie needed. In fact, you bought things for yourself as though you were going back to school. Some will attend primary, intermediate, or high school and others will go off to college. If you find yourself wresting with concerns for safety of your child remember that God is with your child. Each step and accomplishment our children achieve can be a heart wrenching emotional moment.

Fall is just around the corner and the excitement of another Labor Day weekend is approaching. I am wondering right now with this question in mind: what aspirations do you have for the remaining year? What goals did you set at the beginning of the year that you are still working to accomplish, or have you given up, and are just waiting for the year to start all over again? Which brings me to this point, there is a saying that one expert stated – “We teach what we know, but we reproduce what we are.” For example, will your kindness, your patience, and your love affect people enough that eventually they may choose to do these things as well?

A quote from the scripture said, “to bring up a child in the way he or she should go.” Maybe we should practice what we teach our children. Alexandra Katehakis said “If your actions were to boomerang back on you instantly, would you still act the same? Doing to others an act you’d rather not have done to you reveals a powerful internal conflict.”

Now is time to reflect on you (or should I) say look into the mirror and stop wasting energy trying to help someone who aren’t willing to help themselves. Life for you will be less stressful and so much easier. Let’s face it! Life is hard enough worrying about self.

So, Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
