Mental strength is essential in today’s world. As we approach the holiday season, we will be faced with stressors on many fronts, such as shopping for just the right gifts, attending parties and events, visiting relatives and the list goes on. Allow me to caution you to pace yourself and don’t overdo it. Remember, the world will not end if you do not accomplish everything others expect of you.

The Bible tells the story of Joshua who God commissioned to lead the people of Israel into a new land.  God encouraged Joshua “to be strong and very courageous” in his new leadership role. God knew that Joshua’s leadership strength was of the upmost importance to his success.

What new stressors will you face during the upcoming holiday season? Perhaps it is a mystery to you now, but one thing is certain: you will need strength. Your strength will come from your faith and trust that God is steering you in the right direction. It is important to have a relationship with God, but you also need strong and loving connections with people you trust.

During the holiday season, relationships with family and friends are important. They enrich our experiences and make activities more enjoyable.  As you think about the people who are close to you, consider the strength of those relationships. Do they offer you encouragement? Do they make you feel respected? Do they provide support?

These questions can be particularly important for your emotional, physical and spiritual wellness. Most of us would admit that we don’t always have the support that we desire. Be strong and courageous during those times and carry on.

If you need help, seek God for support. Ask God to give you the strength, patience and wisdom to face the challenges of the holiday season.  God will give you the power you need to overcome them all! As always Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up.
