This week’s Pup Close & Purrsonal comes to us from Devon Richards. Devon works in LHP’s Accounts Payable department.
Primus is an 11 year old St. Bernard/Lab mix. He was adopted from Devon’s husband’s coworker. She fell in love with his shyness the minute she met him. Primus has free reign of the house and spends most of his day waiting patiently at the top of the stairs for the family to come home. He likes to think he’s a lap dog and if you let him, he will jump in your lap – all 98 pounds of him – and cozy right in!
Zoey is a 5 year old Golden Lab mix. She was adopted from one of Devon’s coworkers. Zoey was teeny compared to Primus, the gentle giant. They got along great! Devon had always heard to wait a year before getting a female dog fixed…but that turned out to not be true in her case, as Zoey proceeded to have 8 puppies that year!
One of those puppies was Jinxy. She is now 2 years old and shares a birthday with Devon’s youngest son. Devon just couldn’t give her up from the litter after bonding and falling in love with her as a newborn pup. Jinxy is very protective of Devon and will sit in her lap when guests come over and won’t move until the folks have left! Jinxy’s favorite toys are tennis balls, to the point that she would rather chase a tennis ball than beg for food.
Speaking of beloved four-footed friends, The Scruff reminds everyone: please spay or neuter your pets.
Devon freely admits all 3 dogs in her household have now been fixed.
