LHP employees do a world of good for their communities on the job and as volunteers. For the next couple of months, The Scruff wants to capture those moments by asking employees to post photos of themselves volunteering on their Facebook and other social media pages along with the hashtag #Proud2BeLHP.

Volunteering is a great way to give back.  It creates that warm fuzzy feeling that we’re doing good in the world and provides a valuable community service.

LHP encourages its employees to contribute to the communities in which they live and work by offering a Volunteer Time Off (VTO) program.  Employees can volunteer up to eight hours a year while on the clock.   All full-time employees are eligible to participate in the VTO.  To participate, employees need to complete the VTO form found here or on the ADP Portal home page.  Additional information about the program is in the Employee Handbook.

Wondering where to volunteer?  Find out if there is a volunteer center in your community, such as www.volunteermatch.org,  that maintains connections with nonprofits and acts as a clearinghouse, matching people with ways to serve.  You can also reach out to local schools and churches, the United Way and Chamber of Commerce.

LHP Capital’s Carmen Solomon, IT, and Jessica Phillips, Operations, (pictured above and below) recently volunteered at a fundraiser for the American Diabetes Association in Knoxville and posted photos to their respective Facebook pages tagged with #Proud2BeLHP.
