“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is “what are you doing for others?”

“The time is always right to do what is right.”

“I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.”

Fun Fact: At birth, King was named Michael King, Jr. after his father. Following a 1934 trip to Germany, to attend the Fifth Baptist World Alliance Congress, King, Sr. chose to legally rename himself and his son to honor German reformer Martin Luther. Henceforth they would be known as Reverend Martin Luther King, Sr. and Martin Luther King Jr., who would later go on to become Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. after receiving his Ph.D. in theology.
