I am an avid Western movie watcher. In one particular movie, I had an epiphany when my attention was drawn to a scene where cattle were stolen from a rancher. The rustler changed the brand on the cows to disguise whose cattle they were. The fact is that even though the brand was altered, they still remained cows that belonged to someone else.

Great leaders’ activities may change from one project to another, but their leadership qualities never change. They inspire their workers to achieve greatness each and every day with their own brand of leadership.

Organic Life CEO Jones Falk said that “leadership is the ability to take an average team of individuals and transform them into superstars.” Great leaders direct a group of people or an organization by doing the following:

  1. Establishing a clear vision.
  2. Sharing the vision with others so that they will follow willingly.
  3. Providing the information, knowledge, and methods to realize that vision.
  4. Coordinating and balancing the conflicting interests of all team members and stakeholders.

A leader must step up in times of crisis and must be able to think and act creatively in difficult situations. Speaking on the subject of leadership, Henry Ford said “the coming together is  beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.” Great leaders work with their team to achieve the highest success possible.

Never give up! Never give up! Never give up!
