We first featured Rebecca Sterling, Community Director at Hickory Forest, on Pup Close & Purrsonal in August of last year. You can revisit that post here.

In the interim, Rebecca has taken in 2 cats after the loss of her beloved 15 year old mini Dachshund, Flash Roscoe.

Luna Ty is about 3 years old. Rebecca’s daughter found in the dumpster behind Walgreens, where she works. Rebecca says that his fur is “softer than silk” and his favorite hobby is to “slap at everything.”

Sonja Name is nearing 7 months. She was abandoned at another LHP property, Dandridge Towers. She is the shortest cat that Rebecca has ever seen, with her legs only being 3.5 inches from the floor to her belly!

Both cats enjoy the laser pointer and have an addiction to cat nip. They also enjoy chasing ice cubes like their canine sister, Daisy Mae.

Speaking of beloved four-footed friends, The Scruff reminds everyone: please spay or neuter your pets.

With gratitude & coffee,

lindsay
