Riley grinning ear to ear

This week’s Pup, Close and Purrsonal comes from Matthew Harrell, Executive Director of the Lawson Family Foundation, who is a proud pet parent of Riley, a 4-year-old Chocolate Labrador retriever. The bright-eyed pup was adopted from Labrador Retriever Rescue of East Tennessee.

Nothing is more fun for Riley than a game of fetch. Matthew says she’ll retrieve literally any inanimate object you throw over and over again until she’s too tired to move. She also amuses the family by bolting out the door to chase away groundhogs every time she is let outside.

Indoors Riley is content to sleep, look for snacks and steal socks. Once the cute canine stole all the socks out of a laundry basket, shredded them and left the remains in a pile in the basement. A socking transgression for which she obviously was forgiven.

With diploma and cap, Riley celebrates graduation day for Beginner Obedience
