Most of us have a computer, cell phone or other device that requires a password for access. Your password is a secret string of characters that verifies your identity as the legitimate user and not a robot or someone else hacking into your system. You do not need a secret word or phrase to access God. Any expression of appreciation for God’s actions in our lives authenticates us as individuals and not robots.

To praise God means to openly express admiration, gratitude, and adoration for God’s character and actions. This can be done through acts of worship like singing, praying, or simply reflecting on his goodness. It is essentially acknowledging his greatness and power by publicly declaring he is worthy of praise.

If you have not used your “password” of praise recently, now is the time. You can use it to call on God for the gracious unconditional promises he provides to you and your family. Note, that using your password of praise, allows you to come into the presence of the God.

The Psalmist expresses the password of praise by saying, “Blessed are the people who know the festal shout, who walk, O Lord, in the light of your face.” Praising God creates an intimate space between you and him, allowing him to speak directly to your heart in such a way you are drawn nearer to him.

When we praise God, we are remembering the joyful moments of what God has done for us. Our praise goes hand in hand with thanking God for our blessings. It includes a growing reverence for who God is, which, in turn, imparts true wisdom to all of us. In the Bible, King David noted that he would praise God “with his whole heart.” This praise was genuine, not half-hearted and it served as access to God’s goodness.

Praising God with our heart also means that even in a position of despair, disappointment, or confusion, you still praise him from the depths of your heart. Remember that until you believe in God’s ability to meet your needs, you have no ground on which to base your confidence and prayers.

Your praise unlocks the doors to communicate with God and more. It allows God to respond to your request. Just as your computer cannot be accessed unless you use your password, access to God is gained through our praises. Commit today to praising him and watch how your life will be changed and new joy experienced. Be blessed and Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
