At LHP, we believe a company’s strength is measured not just by its business success, but by its heart. This is why we offer Volunteer Time Off (VTO), giving our employees the opportunity to serve the communities where they live and work. We know that giving back isn’t just good for our neighbors—it’s good for our employees, fostering collaboration and team work through shared service.
Recently, the staff at Ridgebrook in Knoxville proved that the VTO program can be a “striking” success as a team-building activity. Community Manager Rasheeda Butler and her team traded their office shoes for bowling shoes, heading to a local bowling center to support the Koinonia Foundation. This wonderful nonprofit provides essential educational and recreational opportunities for children with disabilities, and the Ridgebrook team was thrilled to join these families for a day of fun and encouragement.
The LHP volunteers didn’t just watch from the sidelines; they were right in the thick of it, helping children select the perfect ball and cheering on every single roll. It was a unique opportunity for the team to bond outside the office while celebrating the joy and resilience of the children they were there to serve.
Are you ready to make your mark? All full-time employees are eligible for up to 8 hours of VTO per year. Whether you want to support a charity close to your heart or organize a group effort like the Ridgebrook crew, we encourage you to get involved. If you’re interested in using your hours to do some good in your community, simply reach out to your manager or Human Resources to get started!
