Winners do not quit when they encounter defeat, they view obstacles as temporary, not insurmountable. Winners constantly seek to learn, adapt, and embrace challenges. They often derive their motivation from the mindset of improving their situation. Most of all, winners dedicate themselves to goals with high intensity and are willing to put in extra work.
However, desperate situations sometimes call for desperate measures and severing your supply line to your flesh means getting radical. The Lord puts it this way: “If your right eye leads you astray, pluck it out and throw it away. It is better to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be thrown into the rubbish.”
The Lord is advocating for moral and spiritual surgery, and that is a radical concept for those who desire to be winners in life. Whatever your personal battle may be, its purpose is to destroy you, therefore it must be eradicated. You cannot subscribe to the notion of becoming a winner in life when there is baggage holding you back. There is no way to argue, reason, or negotiate with sin.
The Apostle Paul wrote to his spiritual son, Timothy, warning him about the sins that could disqualify him and keep him from winning the race of life. No one can be a winner while allowing personal battles—such as alcohol, drugs, or wrong relationships—to get in the way of being successful.
Life in today’s environment is saturated with seductive influences, which means we cannot always eliminate the source. Paul tells Timothy that when you cannot remove the influence, remove yourself from the stuff that is bad for you.
A winner is created by a combination of intense commitment, relentless persistence, and a growth mindset that treats challenges as learning opportunities. However, a winner’s attitude is defined by taking personal accountability, maintaining optimism, and focusing on effort rather than just outcomes.
So, strive toward the goal of becoming a winner by ridding yourself of things that hold you back. You can be free to achieve your goals in life, but your carnal mind will only give you a second before it tries to decide for you. Don’t hesitate, don’t deviate, and don’t procrastinate. Do what needs to be done to be a winner and do it quickly. Be blessed and Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
