Community leaders, elected officials, and government housing professionals joined LHP Capital and Bristol Development on March 25 to celebrate the grand opening of Tapestry at Roan Hill. The ribbon cutting wasn’t just a ceremony—it was a huge win for the Johnson City community.

Not only does Tapestry offer 145 beautiful and affordable apartment homes for seniors and people with disabilities, but it also serves as new replacement housing for the century old John Sevier Center. Tapestry’s modern apartment homes provide many contemporary amenities, such as high ceilings, spacious floor plans, and extra-large closets, alongside essential modern appliances, including a dishwasher, microwave, and a personal washer and dryer.

Speaking at the ceremony, LHP Development CEO Alvin Nance said, “Ultimately, this project is about people. It took a small army of 19 different organizations—including HUD, THDA, and the City of Johnson City—to bring this vision to life. This kind of teamwork ensures that our neighbors in East Tennessee have a high-quality, affordable place to call home.”

Alvin also took a moment to celebrate the dedicated LHP team members who made this milestone possible: Development’s Tallal Shakarchi and Lara Lundy, Construction’s Richard Emison, Relocation’s Kimberly Avon and Christina Smith, and Property Management’s Andy Brinkman, Claudette Thompson, Brenda Hensley and Susan Charlton.

Saving the best for last, Alvin gave a special shout-out to the “boots-on-the-ground” heroes of this project. These are the team members who have been on-site and present every single day, working side-by-side with our residents to ensure a smooth transition and a warm welcome to their new homes: Amanda Johnson, Amanda Thombelson, Troy Rachall, Wayne Jewart, and Brandon Seger.
