Well-adjusted people find the right balance between protecting their personal space and allowing others to manipulate or dominate them. They know how to say ‘yes’ to what’s healthy and ‘no’ to what is not. Some people find it more difficult to bounce back from an unpleasant situation. If you are feeling devastated, defeated or frightened, you might not see a way out of despair. And even though your family and friends tell you to stay strong because time heals all wounds, you find that just surviving today is the greatest struggle of all.
So, how do you bounce back when life knocks you down? It is not always an easy transition especially if you are dealing with a tragic or traumatic event. It can feel like your entire world is tumbling down after a tragedy or unwelcome news about a loved one’s health. I know because I have been there. I know because my world caved in on me when both of my parents passed away within six months of one another. I had an illusion that they would live forever.
Yet, after the initial shock, I found strength in many ways. And, unknowingly at the time, inspirational messages became my building blocks for a more resilient foundation. In them, I found solace, hope, and the determination to carry on. They were my lighthouses in a storm, light in the darkness, truths that cut through the relentless anxiety and kept me focused.
If you are going through tough times right now, do not give up the fight. You’ve got this! There is hope and there are many ways to carry on. When you discover how to defeat and overcome your problem, you will bounce back to normalcy. I hope these nuggets of wisdom will infuse you with clarity, fire and courage when you find yourself facing a bad situation.
Believe that you can do this. Believe in yourself. And believe in your inner strength to bounce back because you are resilient. American author and motivational speaker Eric Thomas said, “Pain is temporary. It may last for a minute, or an hour, or a day, or even a year. But eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit; however, it will last forever.” So, bounce back and Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
