Many things can cause your day to start out with chaos. For example, you oversleep, the car won’t start, you are late for work or your computer crashes. These are things that can make you very angry, but only if you let them.
In the book of Proverbs, King Solomon said, “A man of quick temper acts foolishly.” He reminds us that doing things out of rage might be to our detriment. Having a quick temper means you get angry very easily, quickly, and often without a significant reason.
People with a quick temper may be described as unpredictable, and they often react to stress or minor disagreements by yelling or getting immediately defensive. However, patience is better than strength and controlling your temper is better than being short tempered.
Every morning, you should seek God’s advice before starting out on your daily journey. King David said that he started his day by offering it to God. When we allow God to direct our daily activities, we are less likely to react in anger when things go wrong.
For me, I have decided to start each day with a fresh outlook on life. I made up my mind to enjoy every single moment of the day. I may make mistakes and things may not go my way, but I am not going to allow circumstances beyond my control to spoil my day. I may face disappointment, but I am going to live my life happily. I am not going to let what does or doesn’t happen steal my joy.
I am reminded of a song by Pastor Shirley Caesar: “This joy I have, the world didn’t give it to me, the world can’t take it away.” The song represents a deep, spiritually rooted joy that is independent of worldly circumstances. The song emphasizes that true joy is an internal or spiritual strength that cannot be removed by external forces.
So, as you start a fresh day, look to God for strength for whatever may be in store—good or bad. As the Psalmist stated: “I lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.” Like the Psalmist, our declaration today should be to trust in God as our ultimate source of strength, and protection, rather than in the temporary, material things of this life. Start your fresh day by giving it to God. Be blessed and Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
