Stephanie Gundlach-Chess, Senior Construction Accountant, is retiring after 30 years of service to the company. Stephanie joined the company as a property accountant on April 15, 1991 when LHP Capital operated under the Lawler Wood Housing brand name.
“She’s been an instrumental part of our company for the last 30 years and a tremendously dedicated employee,” says Cristy Lockwood, COO and President. “Stephanie is very thorough and detailed, and she’s always someone you can depend upon. We will miss her greatly.”
There is no shortage of praise for Stephanie’s work and contributions to LHP. Logan Wells, Construction Accountant, who has been selected to assume Stephanie’s position upon her retirement, has been training with Stephanie since last fall. “Working for her—and with her—is a blast!” says Logan. “You always know where she stands.” Stephanie is a wealth of knowledge and she will be missed at LHP, says Carolyn Gilbert, Controller, adding that she is “happy for her and excited to hear about all her retirement adventures!”
Stephanie’s last day with LHP is March 12. Due to the coronavirus, a send-off party isn’t possible but individuals and small groups of employees have been treating Stephanie to celebratory lunches and dinners this month. Stephanie’s retirement plans include lots of traveling, including camping and hiking. She and her husband, Jack, are outdoor enthusiasts who frequently visit the Great Smoky Mountains. As retirees, they are looking forward to exploring more of America’s national parks, vacationing with friends and spending time with their family, especially grandchildren.
On behalf of everyone at LHP, congratulations Stephanie and best wishes for a very happy retirement!
