All of us should constantly think about our priorities in life. From day to day, our priorities can change. However, your highest priority should always be your relationship with God and fulfilling his will for your life.
The Apostle Paul wrote a letter to the Hebrews, warning against neglecting God. Paul words still ring true in today’s environment: “Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it.”
The Apostle Paul wrote that it was vitally important that “every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?” So, don’t drift away from the promises of the Lord. For example, when God wants you in a palace, nobody can keep you in prison because your future isn’t in the hands of others. It is in the hands of God.
No one’s God-given assignment in life requires the cooperation or approval of everyone. But it does require the cooperation of one person and that person is none other than you. You are the only one who must give an account of your choices made in life.
We need to ensure that our priorities in life are aligned with the will of God. If they are not, we need to change our attitude, believe more, and have more faith. Then, we will get what we want out of life. Keep in mind that everything is going to be all right when our priorities are properly aligned.
Ask yourself these questions: What am I facing this morning? What have I faced recently in my life that caused me to question the success of my faith in God’s promises? Keeping your spiritual priorities in check is your responsibility—no one else’s. If you neglect this, you will pay a high price.
Ask yourself another question: Do I take time to listen to God and get direction before rushing into today’s activities. A word of caution: some people have disregarded the biblical principles that command us to wait on God before taking matters into our own hands.
There is a great work to be accomplished but it cannot be a good outcome if you don’t wait on God’s directions. Finally, you may not be fully aware of this, but spending time with God is the price you pay for hearing from him and doing his will. In short, there is no shortcut to any place that’s worth going. So today make God your top priority. Be blessed and Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
