Today’s post is all about Trevecca Towers I/East and II in Nashville. With 564-units, the senior apartment community is always abuzz with activity.  Fortunately, for our readers, Trevecca Community Manager Karen Kiefer is a terrific reporter. She takes photos and provides a brief write-up about the events for The Scruff so we can share the news with you.

This month Trevecca held its first Light in the Darkness, a new program to brighten a resident’s day with a comforting meal, smile and conversation. On March 1 residents were treated to a hot spaghetti and meatballs and, if desired, the meal was delivered straight to their door by volunteers from the Salvation Army of East Nashville and the Love Thy Neighbor Collective. Light in the Darkness, which is sponsored by Trevecca Nazarene University, The Salvation Army and Social Justice Program, is going to be a monthly event going forward.

Karen and staff were showered with gifts and attention when the Maintenance staff got together with residents to celebrate Leasing Appreciation Week. Each day Trevecca’s leasing office employees found a surprise gift on their desks. One day it was beautiful flowers and another day note cards. At the week’s end, each received a Certificate of Appreciation and a beautiful gift bag with bath bombs, chocolate, body lotion and more! The event was awesome, says Karen, and staff members were especially touched by the sweet messages of appreciation they received from residents. Some of those read:

“Thank you for your patience and understanding.” – Felecia

“You are a delight to work with. You are kind to all of us.” – Jeanette

“I’d like to say thanks for your work effort in the things you have done to make things happen. I just want to say thanks and keep up the good work.” – Mr. Clark

Trevecca’s residents were lucky to get the jump on celebrating St. Patrick’s Day last week playing Bingo. In the spirit of the upcoming March 17 holiday, staff put a festive St. Paddy’s spin on the regularly-scheduled Bingo game handing out ‘luck of the Irish’ hats and deely boppers for residents to wear and providing other fun surprises and special refreshments.
