In the Bible, the word vision is more often used as an encounter with God where he imparts special revelation, often intuitively. In the Book of Proverbs, the writer proclaimed this about visions. “It’s like love and wisdom and is not something to be lost but rather the constant gift of God to be fully used.” Author George Barna said, “A mark of a great leader is the ability not only to capture the vision, but also to articulate it and to cause people to fully embrace it.”
Every leader has different gifts, talents, resources and a unique calling. What works for one leader in his or her particular circumstances is not likely to work for another leader who is immersed in an entirely different set of circumstances.
However, the mark of a great leader is the ability not only to capture the vision, but also to articulate it and to cause people to fully embrace it. Because vision concerns action, it is imperative that the vision be cast in such a way that people understand and can respond to it.
The most important element about a leader’s vision is realizing that the leader’s vision will reflect their most basic values and beliefs. These elements are an inseparable part of leadership and they become integrated into every decision and judgment the leader makes.
We can apply this same viewpoint to every day life that our vision will reflect our most basic values and beliefs. Your vision can be inspiring to achieve a dream. Can you imagine understanding God’s perspective of the world and how he wishes to use us in shaping that world and then feeling let down by his viewpoint? When our vision becomes a bold reason for living, it is a badge of purpose that we wear proudly and courageously.
Parents envision their children achieving goals they dreamed about during their young child’s life. So, when the child grows up into adulthood and becomes what the parent had envisioned, this is then seen by some as the power of vision.
Leaders devise objectives they believe the team members can achieve in the organization. And when the goal is accomplished, the leaders see this as their power of having a vision that comes to fruition. So Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
