It’s wonderful Wednesday. Let’s get into all the Easter and other celebrations going on at our properties and a closer look at LHP Giving Back to our community and kids with special needs.
The families at Southside Manor celebrated Easter with a… pizza party! Of course, kids love pizza and it’s the perfect reward after finishing an exhausting Easter egg hunt.
Dozens of colorful Easter basket treats at Overlook Ridge waiting to be distributed to families. Just looking at the cheerful colors brightens your day.
Happy birthday! Speaking of colorful, check out the very pretty jewel tone birthday balloon Miller Village Assistant Manager Kristie McGhee received on her birthday! The bouquet of balloons and flowers was a gift from the Miller Village crew. (Happy birthday, Kristie!)
This week’s warmer weather was just right for a “pop-up” lemonade stand at Trevecca Towers II courtesy of CareRite Centers of Nashville. Residents enjoyed free refreshments and could pick up helpful information about the health care company’s offerings, such as dentistry, pain management, occupational and speech therapy and insurance services. There was a great turnout so next week, there’ll be a second event at Trevecca Towers I/East.
Giving back. LHP Capital gives back to the communities we serve in many ways, including supporting nonprofit organizations such as Camp Koinonia, a Knoxville program that offers children with special needs a week of canoeing, horseback riding and outdoor activities. Due to COVID-19, last summer’s camp had to be cancelled. Staff immediately begin working on ways to offer a virtual experience and created a camp experience kit for Special Education classes. With the kits, teachers are able to bring the camp experience to the students in their classrooms. So far, the program has served more than 500 students in three counties. For more information, visit www.campkoinonia.org. Here’s a news clip about the virtual camp experience from WBIR-TV Channel 10. Click here to view.
