It appears that everything in the world is being turned upside down from what we are accustomed to experiencing. But change is inevitable in our everyday lives, so you cannot take things for granted. The way you experience things today might not be the way they are in tomorrow’s environment. It is prudent to take nothing for granted and to stay wide awake for changes that might come your way.
The Apostle Peter writes such a warning to the people who were exiles of “the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia.” The Apostle forecasted that the end of time would come, writing: “The end of all things is at hand; therefore, be self-controlled and sober minded for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly.”
The Apostle emphasizes the urgency of the present time and the importance of love, hospitality, and prayer as believers prepare for the coming end of all things. He urges the people to have deep love for one another, stating that love covers a multitude of transgressions toward others in the world.
He encouraged them to offer hospitality to one another without grumbling and implicitly urged them to use their spiritual gifts to serve others, contributing to the overall good of the community. However, being faithful until the end of time requires a fervent commitment to live a life that is in line with God’s will, preparing for the future while actively engaging in the present.
As we live out our lives in times like these, it is urgently important to show hospitality to one another by not grumbling or complaining. Rather, we need to offer a welcoming and generous spirit to those who need it, whether it’s sharing your time, resources, or simply offering a kind word. Our faith should demonstrate love and compassion, even when it might be inconvenient or require self-sacrifice.
In essence, the Apostle relayed a message of sacrifice which underscored the idea that achieving significant change often requires individuals to make sacrifices for the greater good. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. also emphasized the importance of sacrifice in his messages to his followers, saying, “There is nothing more majestic than the determined courage of individuals willing to suffer and sacrifice for their freedom and dignity.” So have a heart of love and sacrifice until the end of time. Always keep God in the forefront of everything you desire through your faithful commitment as an inhabitant of this world. Be blessed and Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
