Most believers who grow up during difficult times naturally learn to trust God more because they have experienced his faithfulness. Others, however, find themselves increasingly consumed by life’s “what-ifs.” Worrying about things that have not occurred is a waste of mental energy. Hoping that something bad won’t happen is not a strategy for a successful life—unless that hope is firmly placed in God’s plans for you.
There are so many meaningful things that we can be engaged in accomplishing when we accept that the future rests in God’s hands rather than our own. Worry, by its very nature, distorts our perspective, making a problem seem much bigger than it actually is. It often starts small, but without faith, it can quickly grow into full-blown panic.
We must trust that God will come through for us. As the writer of Proverbs exclaims, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
We must develop the habit of letting what’s in our heart be more real to us than what we see, think, or feel. You can choose to think about what God can do instead of what you cannot do. If you continue to be obsessed about the difficulty of your situation, you will end up in despair. In other words, you will feel trapped. People who feel trapped by their situation usually lead to doing drastic things in life.
Instead of letting anxiety drive your choices, scripture invites you to “cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you.” Handing your plans and emotional weight over to God is the ultimate pathway to peace and stability.
When you surrender control of your problem to God, you are admitting that you cannot control every outcome. You stop trying to force solutions through sheer human willpower and instead acknowledge that God’s strength is far greater than our own. Giving your problems to God does not mean you stop taking action or become irresponsible. You must still do your daily part, but you leave the final results—and the worry—entirely up to God. Be blessed and Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
