Thinking right is the key to living right. Our thoughts and words are deeply connected, so it is essential to think pleasant thoughts so that you speak with positive words. Our thoughts are silent words that not only do we and the Lord hear, but when verbalized, they influence our emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being.
King Solomon, who is believed to have written most of the book of Proverbs, writes, “The heart of the wise makes his speech judicious and adds persuasiveness to his lips. Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.” Solomon believed that healthy words contribute to a healthy body.
Our silent thoughts affect our inner self, our health, our joy, and our attitude. The things we think about often manifest in our speech and can sometimes make us look foolish. If we live according to the way God wants us to, our thoughts and speech can make our lives and the lives of others more enjoyable.
Never make the mistake of thinking that you can let your mind run in any worldly direction it wants and then disguise it by saying godly words. Either both are pleasing, or both are negative. There is no middle ground. The Apostle Paul reminds us of this fact when he writes, “Let this mind be in you which was also in the Lord.”
Our faith in the Lord is our doorway into a new realm of living. As you spend time letting the Lord adjust your thinking, you will not have to think about speaking pleasant words, wise words, instructive words, or healing words. They will flow naturally.
Finally, if you want to reach your God-given potential in life, you need to do more than simply experience life and hope you learn what you need to know along the way. You must pursue growth through positive thoughts and opportunities as if your future requires it.
Personal growth doesn’t just occur by wishing for it, it requires action. And do not allow the fear of the unknown to keep you from pursuing your dreams. All of us have fears but there is good news: God has given each of us faith. The question to ask yourself is: Which will I allow to be stronger–my fears or my faith? With faith, there are great things in store for you. So, rise up in faith, seize opportunities and positive thoughts shape your path forward. Be blessed and Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
