Trevecca Towers in Nashville hosted a huge block party inviting everyone in the community to come together to celebrate Juneteenth, a date—and now a federal holiday—that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.

More than 250 turned out for the event and guests included many residents, Trevecca University faculty, staff and students, members of the Trevecca Nazarene Church, officers and representatives from Metro Police and Fire Departments. The staff from Trevecca Towers set up tents and tables with red and white checkered tablecloths and fired up the grill for a cookout with hot dogs and hamburgers with all the fixings, chips, sweet tea and lemonade. They also served yummy fair food, cotton candy and snow cones, and had a fun photo booth and ladder golf and corn hole games going.

TVT Manager Karen Kiefer gave kudos to Hilary Frame, Activities Director, for organizing the event, and thanks to her entire team for making the important holiday celebration such a great success.
