Today’s Pup Close and Purrsonal comes to us from Sherry Debler, Corporate Property Accountant, who has a 2-year-old Bichon Frise, named Ollie. The white puff ball of a dog holds a very special place in the hearts and home of Sherry’s family because Ollie is “first pet” of the Debler household.
Due to allergies, Sherry’s two children, Ainsley and Austin, had never experienced the joy of having a pet. Also, busy work schedules for both Sherry and her husband, Randy, made it difficult to find the time they needed to properly raise and train a puppy. But the pandemic changed all of that. After researching hypoallergenic breeds, the family fell in love with the Bichon Frise, a low-shedding dog breed known for being sociable, affectionate and intelligent. Ollie is all that and more. He loves to play and one of his favorite games is for you to chase him, says Sherry.
“It’s like a game of tag and you’re it,” Sherry says. “He runs throughout the house as fast as he can, making rumbling noises the whole time. He can turn on a dime and dodge you, just when you think you are about to get him.”
Ollie has a few favorite spots in the house where he likes to hang out, including his own fluffy bed and the Big Joe bean bag chair. But mainly he likes to snuggle up to one of his humans on the recliner.
“Ollie is such a happy pup,” says Sherry and when he is around, you can’t help but be happy, too.
