When you find yourself losing sight of your goal in life, try to remember that quitters are not achievers if they are always stopping short of the vision. When you find yourself losing faith in what your passion has been, ask the question “is the vision still there?” It’s your vision that fuels your passion. Have you ever noticed how God often transforms the worst people into his greatest servants? That’s because they are passionate, and once that passion is harnessed and redirected, they become effective in his Kingdom.

Now, perhaps it is easier to understand why people who are most critical of you try so hard to destroy you. They know once you line up your passion with God’s plan, there is no stopping you. One of my favorite scriptures in the Bible reads: “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” The message is this: stay strong and don’t lose sight of your vision.

Know that passion is spiritual energy; without it you are as lost as a ball in high weeds and as helpless as a fish on dry land. So instead of trying to stifle your passion, let God redirect it. You will miss for sure if you do not stand strong against the winds of life that blow every which way. Your instinct for self-preservation can rob you of the only chance you may ever get at life. So, if you are down today, get back up. If you failed, try again and ask God to rekindle the fires of passion within you.

Too often, we have a picture in mind of the way life was supposed to be and the blessed journey we thought we were promised to enjoy when we made the decision to pursue our vision. What often happens is that we find that the path opening to us is harder than we imagined, and we are more powerless than we thought in controlling other peoples’ decisions and actions. What a gift of grace it is to read in the Bible that we can live in the vision of challenges and complexities, and still experience the rich destiny and honor of knowing God is our guiding light.

The late Mahatma Gandhi said, “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” I believe his message is a reminder to never lose sight of your vision and Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
