This Pup, Close and Purrsonal comes to us from Branda Ausmus, Corporate Property Accountant, who has Dewey, a sweet Schnauzer mix who smiles and poses for photos like a trained professional.
“Dewey is my little ray of sunshine,” Branda says. “He is always smiling at me and posing for pictures. He greets me every day with a toy in his mouth, waiting to play. “
Perhaps those canine grins are Dewey’s way of saying thanks for giving me a loving home. Dewey is a rescue from the streets of Texas. Branda saw him on Petfinder and immediately fell in love with him. She was able to adopt him through Love of Littles Dog Rescue and Foundation, an East Tennessee-based nonprofit, which has connections with another rescue organization, Pilots and Paws, which provides air transportation for pet rescues.
Dewey has been with Branda and her husband for about a year and the pup is believed to be about 3 years old. While described as a Schnauzer mix, Branda thinks he might also be a Wheaten Terrier or Bichon Frise mix. One thing she knows for sure is that he is a beloved member of the Ausmus family.
“He is my baby,” she says. “He reminds me every day how much it means to be a dog mom.”
