Always be true to yourself and be you. Be true to your word and do not sell yourself short or waste your time worrying that you aren’t good enough. These are important truisms for a healthy life. Trying to please everybody will drive you insane. No matter what you do, you cannot please everyone all the time. So, do not stress yourself trying to please people who care only about themselves. It will be a waste of your time and energy.
An important human characteristic in life is staying true to who you are. Pretending to be someone you are not can be painful and cause you to have sleepless nights and unrestful days. Dr. Debasish Mridha, an American physician and philosopher, said, “it takes tremendous courage to be honest and true to yourself.”
How do you keep friends? By not devaluing the friendship. Can you imagine life without friends? Friendship is important. No one wants to go through life without having friends. From a biblical perspective, God created two individuals who shared their life together and an important part of their relationship was friendship. Their friendship was paramount to each other. So, let us not under value the need for friends, especially in this new normal we are coping with every day.
Whenever you consider friendship, think on this; for a friend to feel valued they must know you genuinely value them. To feel respected, they must know you genuinely respect them. When we devalue others, we start treating them like objects. Not people! So, how do we keep friends? Let friends be true to themselves. Focus on their strengths, and they will let you know when they need your help in areas where they struggle. Many of us are skilled at finding the value in an opportunity or a good deal. We need to develop the same mindset when it comes to building friendships.
So, let us not take friendship for granted and be true to yourself. And Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
