If we practice thinking good thoughts, we can renew our mind. The Bible teaches, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” So, how do you renew your mind? By saturating it in Biblical principles.
There is an old saying that states, “Watch your thoughts for they become your words. Watch your words for they become your deeds. Watch your deeds because they become your habits. Watch your habits because they become your character. Watch your character because it becomes your destiny.”
What leads us to thinking right is programming our minds with God’s Word. Ask yourself: Are my decisions in life driven by faith in God, or by the fear of failure, rejection, or lack thereof? Whatever your answer, one thing is certain: the patterns and attitudes that rule your life were not formed overnight. So, don’t expect an overnight cure. But you can start by following the words of God.
The Bible encourages us to focus our thinking on what is good, true, and praiseworthy. This includes things that are honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable. By intentionally directing our minds toward these virtues, we can cultivate positive thinking and align our thoughts with God’s will. The great Apostle Matthew writes that the “words a person speaks reflect the condition of their heart,” emphasizing that thoughts precede actions and words.
In essence, the Bible advocates for a proactive approach to thinking, encouraging believers to fill their minds with positive, virtuous thoughts that align with God’s character and purpose for our lives. This includes actively rejecting negative thoughts and replacing them with thoughts that are uplifting, true, and beneficial.
Finally, thinking right comes from setting our mind on God and keeping focused habitually on the things that are spiritual not earthly ones. Earthly things have only temporal value. We can do this by deciding today that we are going to live and experience the promises of God.
When you struggle to stay focused on what truly matters in life, remember to pray and ask God to direct you and provide the power to think right thoughts. Let’s keep thinking right because the world we live in is too often filled with negative distractions that promote wrong thinking. Right thinking involves a closer walk with God. Be blessed, and Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
