When God gives you a promise or a vision for your life, it is like a seed; it needs time to take root before it can bear fruit. The Bible helps us to understand patience. In the Book of Romans, it says “but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance, and perseverance produces character, and that perseverance produces hope.” This tells us that tribulations produce patience.
Patience is something that many of us have difficulties with because we live in a fast-paced world that works on a schedule. We struggle with patience because we must have patience even when we think others do not deserve it. We are also taught that we should count it a blessing when our various trials test our faith which produces patience.
Producing patience is easiest when we make a choice to slow down. We must make a conscious decision to slow down the processes that are going on in our lives. However, there are many times when we allow our emotions to keep us from being patient at a time when patience is needed the most. I know that patience is sometimes the most difficult attribute for humans, but it can be the most rewarding experience waiting for God to provide you as he has planned for you.
Be patient with your visions and goals so they can materialize as God has planned. Remember that God’s plan was for Joseph to live in a palace, yet for years he lived in a prison, charged with crimes he never committed. But it was there he met a butler who had the ear of Pharaoh, and through this connection, he was promoted to the number two spot in Egypt.
Understand this: When you are patient and walk with God, your opportunities for advancement are regulated by his plan, not someone else’s actions. And preparation always precedes promotion. When God is going to build something great, he takes time to lay a strong foundation. So be patient and allow yourself time to grow.
Let God build a foundation under you that will sustain you and the blessings he has in mind for you. The years ahead will be great because he has planned it for you. Seek God’s help with patience when dealing with difficulties or annoying situations, tasks, or people. And Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
