The excitement continues to build for the new replacement housing LHP is developing for residents of John Sevier Center, a 150-unit high-rise affordable senior apartment community located in downtown Johnson City, TN. Last week LHP staff shared initial plans for the replacement housing with residents to get their feedback, and it was positive.

Tapestry at Roan Hill is the name for the new development which will be built about a mile from the current property at 2162 S. Roan St. Plans call for the construction of garden-style buildings housing spacious one-bedroom apartments with modern features and amazing amenities. Residents were thrilled to learn every unit will have a side-by-side washer and dryer in addition to new kitchen appliances including dishwasher and microwave, stylish cabinetry, luxury vinyl plank flooring and free Wi-Fi and cable TV. Outdoors the community will have meandering garden paths, pet walk area and cozy seating nooks to enjoy a pretty day.

LHP CEO of Development Alvin Nance led the meetings along with developer Tallal Shakarchi. Explaining that the development timeline is contingent upon certain regulatory and approval processes, they said construction is expected to start next fall with a completion date of the end of 2025.  LHP’s Senior Relocation Manager Kimberly Young briefly explained her role and reassured residents that as the development progresses she and other LHP staff would be on hand to assist residents with every aspect of the move.
