Planning for the future is so important for humanity. Futurist professionals believe that we must plan for the future through the lens of our past. By doing so, we can understand what our needs may be in the years ahead of us.
Examining how we have overcome obstacles and setbacks in the past might help you find the keys to a successful venture. My favorite quote is “by failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” No one wants to fail in accomplishing their life’s dream. All of us want to be successful and to achieve planned goals for a desired future.
Success can be a certain social status that describes a prosperous person or someone who has gained fame for a favorable outcome. A Biblical story gives insight about depending on God for success after we have planned on moving forward with our vision or goal. God told Moses, “I will make all my goodness pass before you.” But in order to see that promise fulfilled, Moses had to be properly positioned. If we function in the place where God has assigned us, we can claim success.
So, when God gives you a vision, it is like a seed that he plants. It needs time to take root before it can bear fruit. It is like the birth of a child. A parent must now prepare for the future of that child to be successful in parenting the child. And so, the parent must be ready for the challenges and responsibilities of parenthood. You can’t be impatient in raising a child; especially when the child doesn’t follow your instruction; but rather, you must be patient.
In similar fashion, when you at first are not successful achieving your goals don’t be impatient and quit striving for success. Trust God to give you the knowledge about what is possible in life. All of us must learn through trial and error the difference between what we can do and what God can do for us to be successful.
If you are a leader, planning for success is a common attribute. No leader can be successful if they are not constantly engaged in planning for the future of their followers. Think ahead by planning for the future and you will be successful. Remember, we are all in this world to make a difference so that those who come after us will have a better life. So Never Give Up! Never Give Up! Never Give Up!
