Officials touring the kitchen of one of the nine fully ADA compliant apartments at Tapestry at Roan Hill
Construction is nearing completion at Tapestry at Roan Hill, and excitement is building for the community’s upcoming opening. Recently, Ralph Perrey, Executive Director, Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA), visited the site to tour the progress firsthand. He was joined by LHP’s CEO Carey Parker and Development CEO Alvin Nance along with other LHP staff members and several local officials.
During the visit, the group toured key areas of the property, including the community room, fitness room and business center. While the spaces are not yet furnished, the interiors already reflect the thoughtful design and welcoming atmosphere that will soon bring the building to life. The community room will serve as a hub for educational programs, recreational activities, and social gatherings.
Tapestry is set to welcome residents starting in November. It will replace the nearly 100-year-old John Sevier Center, providing modern, affordable housing in a prime location. Located at 2162 S. Roan Street, the new development is adjacent to a Food City grocery store and pharmacy, with a public bus stop conveniently located across the street.
The 145-unit community features spacious one-bedroom apartments designed with residents in mind. Each unit offers high ceilings, oversized floor plans, extra-large closets, and a personal washer and dryer—bringing both comfort and convenience to future residents. Other LHP employees in attendance at the sneak peek were VP of Development Tallal Shakarchi, SVP of Property Management, SVP of Construction Richard Emison, and Compliance Specialist Susan Charlton.
