LHP Capital is thrilled to announce that Mia Smith, Human Resources Recruiter, has been selected as a Positive Resident Experience (PRE) Leader! This award recognizes Mia’s exceptional commitment to our customer service promise and her important role in building the LHP team.
As the recruiter, Mia is often the first LHP employee an applicant meets, “so it is up to me to sell the company to its potential,” she explains. And she does this very well, according to Andy Brinkman, Senior Vice President, LHP Property Management.

Though not serving residents directly, Mia views her role as being on the “front line to our employees.” This role is vital for helping the company consistently deliver a positive resident experience.
To ensure this excellent service, she specifically looks for candidates who possess both tenure and a genuine passion for the work. “If the passion is there and the tenure is there, then that is exactly what we need,” she says. She adds that a candidate’s energy and “vibe” are powerful indicators of a good fit: “If I can get a great vibe from them, I know the staff and residents will, too.”
Mia’s dedicated and enthusiastic approach is clearly working. According to Human Resources Senior Vice President Lindsay Willis, LHP is experiencing the fewest open positions ever, a fact she attributes to Mia’s excellent work. “Mia takes the time to truly understand the needs of each position and connects with candidates in a genuine, thoughtful way,” Lindsay says. “The result? Great matches and successful hires.”
