LHP’s Carey Parker, Mike Rodgers and Sundai Stevenson along with business leaders yesterday celebrated the completion of Dallas Manor’s substantial rehab at a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house.
LHP spent on average $85,000 to remodel each unit adding new Shaker-style cabinets with brushed nickel hardware, granite countertops and stainless-steel sink in the kitchen, installing vinyl plank flooring, energy efficient lighting and modern fixtures throughout, and replacing the refrigerator, microwave and stove/oven with new Energy Star appliances. With the rehab LHP also was able to add a dishwasher and clothes washer and dryer to every unit as well as free Wi-Fi and cable TV.
The property’s existing laundry room was removed and repurposed and the Community Room completely refigured to provide new offices, accessible restrooms, large multi-purpose gathering space, computer workstations and a fitness area. Exterior improvements included sealing and striping parking lots, new landscaping and adding a new covered gathering area with fixed benches.
Speaking at the event, Mike Rodgers said, “Residents are thrilled with their renovated homes and the many new amenities we were able to add. The renovation has updated and preserved the affordability of the homes, but more importantly, the improvements will enhance the lives of individuals and families living there for years to come.”
