A major milestone for LHP was achieved yesterday as the first residents moved into their new homes at the Tapestry at Roan Hill in Johnson City, Tenn.
Twelve residents settled into the 145-unit community, marking LHP’s very first new construction build and LHP hopes to have all moves completed before Christmas. The atmosphere was full of positive energy as staff welcomed residents to their brand-new apartment homes.
Tapestry represents a significant upgrade for residents who have been living in the 100-year-old John Sevier Center high-rise building. In addition to much larger floor plans, the new units boast a full array of amenities, including a dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, extra counter space, and an in-unit washer and dryer.
Abdul Saleem, a resident of the John Sevier Center for 10 years, was the first to move in, arriving at 6:45 a.m. to be ready. He described his new home as “wonderful.” Looking out his window at the courtyard below, he said it will be fun to see who will be cooking up a barbecue on the gas grills.
The stunning garden-style apartment community offers many amenities not previously available at John Sevier, such as a fitness center, a library, and a huge courtyard featuring rocking chairs, container wall gardens, and spaces for quiet time and relaxation.
